1. Preserving and Sharing Traditional Arts

 

I believe that traditional art forms carry deep cultural value that must be protected and shared.In a time when music often becomes simplified and standardized, I feel a strong responsibility to keep these traditions alive. This is why I chose to study and perform Korean traditional music—it is an art form of profound depth and beauty.By sharing this music, and by engaging with traditional arts from around the world, I hope to contribute to a more diverse and vibrant cultural ecosystem—one where different voices and histories continue to exist and be heard.

 

 

2. Creating Music that Connects Across Cultures

 

Through collaboration across genres and traditions, I strive to create music that fosters understanding between people.

 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced anti-Asian violence firsthand. That moment led me to reflect deeply on questions of racism, fear, and how we can begin to heal both individually and collectively.

 

Music became my answer.

 

Through my work, I hope to create spaces where people can listen to one another, connect beyond differences, and experience a sense of empathy and care.Ultimately, I want my music to be a way of sharing love—something that can gently transform both personal trauma and social tension into connection.

 

3. Building Sustainable Creative Spaces and Community

 

Being an independent artist today can be challenging. Creating and sustaining a healthy artistic practice requires not only time and resources, but also community.

 

I am committed to building performance series and creative spaces that support musicians and connect them with local communities. These spaces are meant to be inclusive, experimental, and rooted in genuine artistic exchange.
